The subject is taught to ALL students, as a discrete subject at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. Currently ICT is delivered to Years 7, 8 and 9 once a week.
Year 10 students currently have 2 lessons a week of ICT and Year 11 students have 3 lessons a week therefore enabling the students to aim for 2 or three GCSE’s in ICT.
In addition students can also opt for ICT and receive extra lessons per week ranging from 3 – 6 depending on the course they opt for aiming for 4 - 7 GCSE’s.

In ICT, students acquire and apply knowledge and understanding of:
the quality and reliability of information and how to access and combine increasing amounts of information
a range of increasingly complex tasks using a variety of ICT tools
how ICT can help their work in other subjects, developing their ability to judge when and how to use ICT and where it has limitations
the application and use of ICT in the outside world

ICT Curriculum - Key Stage 4
Currently the ICT department run three courses across Key Stage 4 these include IT Diploma, DiDA and OCR.
The OCR course contains a range of units all students have to complete unit 1 and then staff can select the other units to be offered therefore the list below may change to ensure that the units being taught are suitable and enjoyable to our students.
